The Shrew Soft VPN Client is available in two different forms. The source code is available for open source platforms and a binary installer is available for Windows platforms.
Open Source Platforms
The source code for the vpn client is available as either tar gzip or tar bzip2 archive from the Linix and BSD download page of the Shrew Soft web site. The source code is also available from the public subversion repository. After obtaining the source code, please see the README.TXT file which contains updated information on how to compile and install the software.
Windows Platforms
The Windows installer for the vpn client is available from the Windows download page of the Shrew Soft web site. After obtaining the installer, you must execute the program while logged into the operating system with an account that has administrative privileges. For normal operation, any account that has local login access should be sufficient.
Silent Installation Options
The Windows installer supports several options related to silent unattended installs. The following command line parameters can be used to alter the behavior during installation.
/S |
Perform an unattended silent installation. This will require no user interaction. |
/STANDARD |
Install the Standard Edition instead of the Professional edition. |
/NODNS |
The dynamic DNS proxy daemon that provides Split DNS functionality will not be installed. |
/NODSL |
The credentials provider that provides Secure AD/Domain login functionality will not be installed. |
/NOMENU |
The standard start menu shortcuts will not be installed. |
/NODESK |
The standard desktop menu shortcuts will not be installed. |
